About us
Our Story
Born and raised in Lithuania, my summers were spent in a country, where my parents had a small piece of land and grew fruits and vegetables. Pulling weeds by hand and fertilizing with cow manure was how I remembered gardening. But to this day, nothing compares to the taste and smell of those homegrown tomatoes, carrots, strawberries and other fruits and veggies.
In May of 2023, I was speaking to a family member in Lithuania, expressing my fatigue of being a lawyer and lacking purpose in life. He laughed and started sharing how he was recently inspired by this company, Sapropel Organics, that was empowering farmers internationally with organic Humuson Complex products that come from the bottom of dead freshwater lakes in the Baltic region. The farmers were ecstatic because they were reducing their input costs and increasing their yields while caring for their soils.
Well, “that sounds too good to be true,” I thought. But I was intrigued nonetheless. If it works in other parts of the world, why wouldn’t it work here, in America? Soon after, I joined forces with Shannon, a generational farmer, growing alfalfa. Field trials on his crop proved made him a believer with an almost 60% yield increase in the first cutting, and Shannon joined the team.
At Sapropel Organics, USA, an exclusive distributor of Humuson Complex’s products, we are committed to harnessing the power of sapropel to create sustainable agricultural solutions. Our products are designed to provide both farmers and home gardeners with a natural, effective way to improve soil health and boost crop yields. But our story doesn’t end there. The process of mining sapropel not only helps create our unique products but also restores the biotope of the freshwater lakes from which it is mined. This restoration leads to the revival of fish populations, beetle colonies, and other important participants in the lake’s ecosystem, ultimately increasing carbon dioxide uptake from the environment.
